Fire Chief James C. Redd
Chief Jim Redd started his career in the fire service in 1979. He has spent 30 continuous years in a full time or volunteer status throughout his service. He became the Fire Chief of the Zoar Fire District in 1991 which is now known as Tyger River Fire Department.

Throughout his 30 years in the fire service he rose through the ranks from Firefighter to Fire Chief. Chief Redd brings with him an extensive background in the fire service which began in August 1979 and includes fire suppression, Emergency Medical Technician, Haz-Mat, Technical Rescue, Training Coordinator, Fire Prevention, Fire Investigation, Public Education, Recruiting, and Human Resources Management.

Chief Redd is a Greer native and a graduate of Greer High School. He has lived in the Greer and Lyman communities
all his life. He served twenty years in the Army National Guard Combat Brigade. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Service Administration and an Associates
Degree in Business Administration.

He is married to Tammy and has two sons, one step-daughter and one step-son.

Chief Redd is honored to serve with men and women who take pride in being part of the Tyger River Fire Department and serving the residents of Western Spartanburg County and the Town of Lyman.

Deputy Chief Shawn Harter
Deputy Chief Shawn Harter
Deputy Chief Harter began his fire service career with the Lyman Fire Department in 1992. He joined at the urging of his father-in-law,
Captain Roger Kanith (retired). He started as a probie firefighter and worked his way to Lieutenant, before the merger with the Zoar Fire Protection District. Since the
creation of the Tyger River Fire District, Chief Harter has worked his way through the ranks to his current position.

Chief Harter has obtained fire suppression and leadership training through the South Carolina Fire Academy; including, but not limited to, IFSAC FF1, IFSAC FF2, IFSAC Fire Instructor 1, and IFSAC Fire
Officer 1. He holds his State Fire Marshal Certification from the State LLR and is a certified Property Maintenance Inspector with the International Code Council (ICC). Chief Harter is a nationally registered
Emergency Medical Technician. Chief Harter has also received basic and advanced aircraft firefighting training from Louisiana State University’s Firemen
Training Program.

Chief Harter is happily married to his wife, Amy and he has two daughters, Alyssa and Ansley. He is also active at Lyman United Methodist Church where he serves as a youth counselor.

Battalion Chief Matthew Bullard
Battalion Chief Matthew Bullard
Battalion Chief Bullard began his fire service career with the Tyger River Fire Department in 2001 as a junior ff. He was hired as a part time firefighter in 2004 and later a full time firefighter in 2008 after serving in the industrial firefighting service. He was hired as a full time shift officer where he worked his way through the ranks to Battalion Chief.

Battalion Chief Bullard now serves as the departments Administrative Chief. He also handles the department's ISO accreditation from an administrative point along with overseeing other administrative functions for the department.

Battalion Chief Bullard is a 2004 graduate from Byrnes High School. He graduated from Columbia Southern University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration and is currently working on his Master's in Public Administration with a concentration as executive fire officer. Along with College education Battalion Chief Bullard has obtained IFSAC FF II, IFSAC Fire Officer II, and state accredited Chief Officer Certifications along with Blue Card Incident Command.

Chief Bullard is happily married to his wife Amanda. He has two step children who he calls his own.
